Overview

BugIntelli is a gardening companion for garden chat, plant reference, and weather-aware watering. BugIntelli is designed to keep your garden information private. The developer does not operate an account system and does not collect or sell your personal information. The app includes no third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs.

On-Device AI Processing

When you use on-device Apple Intelligence or an optional downloaded Bonsai model, eligible AI prompts are processed on your iPhone. Water Wise schedules, watering times, and rain safeguards are calculated locally from weather, evapotranspiration estimates, your garden settings, equipment, and watering history; they do not require AI.

Private Cloud Compute

On an eligible device and operating system, you may choose Apple’s Private Cloud Compute for supported AI requests and attachments. Relevant prompt information and supported attachments are then handled through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute path. Apple states that request data is used only to fulfill the request and is not stored or accessible to Apple. Availability varies by device, operating system, region, service status, and app eligibility.

Location and Weather Data

If you enter a default location or allow BugIntelli to use your current location, the location is used to fetch local weather and create location-relevant gardening and watering guidance. Relevant coordinates are sent to Apple Weather through WeatherKit. In the United States, the National Weather Service at weather.gov may be used as a fallback when Apple Weather is unavailable. BugIntelli estimates reference evapotranspiration on-device and does not use another third-party weather provider.

Photos, Files, Camera, and Attachments

You may choose a photo from your library, take a photo, or select a supported file for an AI request when the selected model supports attachments. BugIntelli accesses only the item you choose. Attachments are processed on-device or, when you explicitly select Private Cloud Compute, through Apple’s Private Cloud Compute path. BugIntelli does not upload attachments to a developer-operated server.

Speech and Voice Data

Voice mode uses Apple’s Speech framework for speech recognition, which processes audio according to Apple’s privacy practices. Spoken responses are generated on-device with the Kokoro text-to-speech model through sherpa-onnx. BugIntelli does not send audio to a developer-operated server.
